The saying went, “You can’t make money off a well patient. Keep ‘em sick.” This very policy applies to the fashion industry in the sense that you can’t sell clothes to a woman who has a closet full. And how do you get her to give up her favorite garments? Tell her they make her look ugly, which is precisely what you are led to feel if you wear outdated styles.

Anonymous said: I want to know more about satanism, I always thought it was the worshipping of "satan", but from reading your blog; it seems to be alot deeper than that. I always wondered, if satanists don't believe in god, what makes them think that satan would be real? I'm really just very confused by the whole thing. Hoping you could give me some insight?

I’m always happy to talk about LaVeyan Satanism!
Most people are misinformed when it comes to this type of satanism and think we worship the devil and bathe in the blood of lambs or some bullshit like that. That’s not true at all. That’s a common misconception which is basically negative propaganda, most usually from Christian sources who choose not to learn about other religions apart from their own or are simply brainwashed.

We believe that we should worship ourselves before any other spiritual entity thus Satan being an embodiment of all things human. Our desires, fears, flaws and everything else that differentiates us from other animals is all enveloped in the symbol of Satan.

The inverted pentagram most commonly used as a symbol of satanism (besides Satan) was derived from the wiccan pentagram which represents the four elements and the spirit at the highest point but in Satanism the spirit is less important than the four elements. I talk about this a bit here.

I always love sharing Wikipedia’s description with everyone so if you wanna check this out, it’s a good read.
The nine satanic statements have always been my favourite, they’re listed on the wikipedia page along with the eleven satanic rules of the earth and the nine satanic sins.

Like I always say about religion, it’s a guideline and you should take what you will from it to make your own life more positive and enjoyable! I don’t completely agree with everything in laveyan satanism, it’s just that the morals encompassed by it have similarities to my own.

If you have any further questions just let me know and I’ll try to answer to the best of my abilities! Hail satan! Hail yourself! :)

Everybody should read:
  • "Making Stuff and Doing Things" by Kyle Bravo

  • "The Vegan Girl’s Guide to Life" by Melisser Elliott (even if you don’t identify as a “girl” it’s a good read!)

  • "We Need to Eat!" by Stacie is one of those life-changing zines.

  • "He’s a Stud, She’s a Slut & 49 Other Double Standards Every Women Should Know" by Jessica Valenti (I think she should change the title to accommodate “everyone”)
  • "Make Your Place: Affordable, Sustainable Nesting Skills" by Raleigh Briggs

  • "The Little Book of Conspiracies: 50 Reasons to Watch Your Back" by Joel Levy

  • "Recipes for Disaster: An Anarchist Cookbook" by Crimethinc

  • "Days of War, Nights of Love: Crimethink for Beginners" by Crimethinc

  • "Expect Resistance, A Crimethink Field Manual" By Crimethinc

If you dig conspiracy theories like I do and you haven’t seen any of The Zeitgeist Film Series you gotta check it out. But like I sometimes say take it with a grain of salt, don’t take it too seriously or you can become incredibly paranoid and end up alienating yourself in the process.

If you’re interested in finding out more about feminism, the internet is a great place to look. I frequent Feminist Frequency every now and then which has great criticism on popular culture such as movies, books and video games.

***Note: I’m always updating this list because I love reading new books. If you have any recommendations you think I would enjoy based off of this list please let me know :)

Righteous Satan Theologies - When Satan is seen as good

1.3. If There is a God, It Is Evil

The existence of such large quantities of suffering, despair, pain, of natural disasters such as earthquakes, of the death of the unborn and the immense suffering of lovers & kind-hearted people means that god is evil and intentionally creates life in order to create suffering. That all life exists in a food chain means that life is completely tied to death, and such a barbaric biological cycle could only have been made by an evil god. Also, that such a god appears not to exist, or actively hides itself, is a source of confusion, conflict, war and stress and is again more likely the antics of an evil god. Given the state of the natural world, it is impossible that a good god exists. It is more likely that an evil god exists, but, it is sensible to assume that there is no god of either type. Even if there is not a god of either type, as the dominance of death and violence in the natural world, a result of nature being abused by life and not being designed for life, I think the evil symbol of Satan is the best representative of the state of reality and the universe, whether or not an actual evil god exists.

If God did exist and was evil, it would undoubtedly lie and tell everyone it was a good god and that it loved them. It would create maximum confusion by preaching multiple conflicting religions. It would create heaven and make it hard to get to in order to tease and torture people into making their own lives hell. As all of those things happen, if there is a God, it is doing the things an evil God would do!

Once I recognized and accepted this state of affairs and adequately called myself a Satanist, I could concentrate my life on happiness, love, stability and peace. Because I know and understand that death always wins, that life is temporary, I waste no time on short-term whims that reduce my quality of life, or of those around me, and I waste no time with spiritual pipe dreams. Recognizing Satan as the personified meta-figure of reality is self-affirming, life-affirming, positive, honest and clarifying.
